Need help with Contour, found a bug, or want to request a feature? You are in the right place. We read every issue and try to reply within a few working days.

Send feedback

The quickest route, and the right one for most things: the feedback form. No account, and nothing is posted publicly. An email address is optional; leave it blank and the report is anonymous.

Opening it from inside the app (Help → Send Feedback) fills in your Contour version, macOS version, Mac model and language. You can see all four on the page before you send, edit them, or clear them — the app itself never transmits anything, and it never sends anything about your images or annotations.

Open a public issue

The fastest way to get help is to open a GitHub issue on our public tracker. Your report is visible to everyone, which means other users can chime in with context and see when the fix ships.

You can also browse previously reported issues — your question may already have an answer.

For private matters — licensing, press, or anything you would rather not post publicly — email support@mgcrea.io.

Before you write

A few details speed things up. Please include:

  • Contour version. Menu bar → Contour → About Contour.
  • macOS version. Apple menu → About This Mac.
  • Mac model. Apple Silicon generation (M1 / M2 / M3 / M4) and unified memory size.
  • Model variant. Which SAM build is loaded (SAM 3, 3.1, int8, mxfp4, etc.).
  • Steps to reproduce. What you did, what you expected, what happened instead.
  • Screenshots or a short screen recording if the issue is visual.

System requirements

  • macOS 26 Tahoe or later
  • Apple Silicon (M1 or later) — Intel Macs are not supported
  • 8 GB unified memory for quantized SAM 3; 16 GB+ recommended for full-precision SAM 3.1
  • 450 MB to 3.5 GB of free disk space per model, depending on which you download. Nothing is fetched until you pick one, and each additional variant is stored alongside the last
